Aurelio and his home were, without a doubt, the best Bed & Breakfast experience I’ve ever had in Airbnb.
We took a train from Barcelona; Aurelio provided a train schedule for us, a phone number for the local cab as well as the Spanish translation to tell the driver. When we arrived, the room was exactly as described and the photos simply DO NOT do the view justice.
His home will always have a very special place in our heart, as shortly after arriving, my boyfriend awkwardly dropped to one knee on the terrace with a nervous smile and a ring in his hand. Much cheering and crying later, Aurelio and his partner had made us a delicious dinner (both restaurants in town were closed) and we were all celebrating together as old friends.
His breakfasts of fruit and coffee on the terrace upstairs were simple and perfect. The village is ideal for quiet weekends of book reading, walking and day dreaming.
All the while, Aurelio was available, hospitable, welcoming and charming.
There was a moment when my fiance (!!) and I looked at each other from across the table, looking out onto the river and vineyards, drinking local coffee Aurelio had prepared for us and listening to the light opera music he had softly playing through the surround sound speakers and thought– how the hell did we get to paradise?
Both Aurelio and his partner are incredibly gifted artists who are open to sharing their art and discussing creative endeavors, which was a welcome conversation. As he graciously drove us back to the train station after two nights, I admit my heart was already heavy with nostalgia for our time there.
Do yourself a favor, book a night or two at this home. You’ll remember it forever.

What can we say about Red Rock House? A corner of heaven? A dream came true?
Everything sounds poor compared to the stunning view on the Ebro valley that we enjoyed from the window of our beautifully decored, wide and tidy room, that we stared at every morning at breakfast and that we had in sight swimming in the little sweet pool on the terrace…
Our experience at Aurelio and Joachim’s amazing house has been just perfect: a relaxing and romantic shield from the frenzy of everyday life, in a place full of charme, where every single detail is a celebration of beauty, peace and art, with two kind, helpful and discrete hosts taking care of everything yet giving us the most complete privacy.
We’ll never forget ‘The Balcony of Miravet’ (the red rock house) and we hope you all have the chance to see the sun going down on the river from its windows once in a lifetime, just to remember how beautiful the world can be.

As they say a picture is worth a thousand words and so were the views from this lovely house. Peaceful, tranquil, and quiet were our moments spent at the Balcony. All of the little details were taken care of by the lovely hosts, even to the extent of picking us up at the station as we arrived by train.
This is a very relaxing environment and great for artists, photography, writers, or anyone looking to be inspired by nature.
If they’re lucky, they will even enjoy a midnight Thunderstorm dancing colorfully in the sky. I think we captured at least 500 pics here

Joaquim and Aurelio are such warm hearted people, that you have to feel at home at once at their lovely place. Their house is done with so much lovely details and the view from their terasse above the Ebro is amazing.
We enjoyed very much the breakfast with them both and hope to see them again, maybe on an exhibition of their fotos/pictures in Germany

This was such a fantastic home to share! Aurelio was a great host that made us feel like home. The view was amazing, bedroom was clean and quiet and had everything we needed to feel as if it were our own home.
We will be staying there again if we travel back to Spain in the future.

Aurelio and Joaquim were the loveliest hosts whom we really enjoyed having a chat with over breakfast. They know the area very well and gladly answer curious travellers’ questions.
The architecture and the interior design of the house is very unique and the view with mountains, the beautiful Ebro river and the rooftops of Miravet old town is just spectacular.
There was lots of privacy for us since the we stayed on a separate floor with a bedroom, bathroom and private entry.

My wife and I had a great time at the Balcony of Miravet. Not only is it beautiful with outstanding views, but you can really tell it has been built from the ground up by very tasteful and creative people. I have never seen anything like it in my life.
Also, the village Miravet, which we did not know before, was an idyllic setting for a quick getaway from Barcelona.
Aurelio is very helpful with advice on the area, and both he and his partner are warm and entertaining. I look forward to going back!

Aurelio and his partner were great hosts – they welcomed us at late night and treated like family! the room was perfect, enough privacy yet the hosts could be reached necessary if needed. Aurelio also told us about the village and showed some secret places 😉

La maison d’Aurélio est un petit coin de paradis. Nous avons été accueilli avec merveille. Je regrette juste de n’être resté qu’une seule nuit.
La maison se trouve à l’aplomb du village juste en dessous du château. La vue est superbe et l’accueil délicieux. Merci encore pour cet accueil.

Hospedarnos en El Balcón de Miravet ha sido una experiencia inolvidable. Superó nuestras expectativas. Miravet es un precioso pueblo, muy desconocido aún, ideal para desconectar del estrés y conectar con la naturaleza y la historia.
La casa es impresionante, bella, acogedora, con unas vistas espectaculares sobre el río Ebro; nuestra habitación comodísima y espaciosa, en una planta independiente para nosotros con baño privado; los demás detalles ya lo sabéis porque es literalmente como lo relatan sus dueños en el perfil y como se refleja en las fotos.
Lo que no podréis saber hasta que vayáis es cuan agradables, hospitalarios, serviciales, divertidos y buenos conversadores son sus dueños, eso… no tiene precio ni se puede evaluar o cuantificar aquí… Gracias, siempre!

Aurelio y Joaquim son excelentes anfitriones. Desde el primer momento nos sentimos como en casa y en familia.
Su hogar es realmente precioso y singular, construido sobre las rocas que soportan el magnífico Castillo de Miravet, con unas vistas de 180 grados encima del río Ebro que nos dejaban totalmente atónitos cada mañana y con la calidez que sólo pueden desprender los hogares que se han hecho con cariño.
Conocen el territorio de manera exhaustiva (Joaquim nació en esta encantadora población y Aurelio tiene más información de la zona en su tienda que en algunos de los puntos de información turística que visitamos), así que nos recomendaron visitas y excursiones que nos encantaron y nos quedamos con muchas ganas de más.
Además Aurelio es un guía excelente y entusiasta de la historia, como la vive y la transmite. Os recomiendo una de sus visitas (canto gregoriano incluido)…
PD: Si vais por esta zona os recomendamos cuatro días completos. Parece mentira pero hay tanto por ver!!

Joaquín y Aurelio son una pareja de artistas (pintor y fotógrafo) que tienen una casa preciosa en un pueblo con encanto y lleno de historia como es Miravet. Y son de esas personas entrañables y acogedoras que parece como si los conocieras de toda la vida. Un verdadero hogar totalmente recomendable como toda la zona, muy tranquila y desconocida.

Ha sido un placer poder disfrutar por unos días de vuestra preciosa casa y del paisaje del Ebro desde este enclave privilegiado e idílico con esas vistas, la calma, el jardín, la higuera, el piano y tanto arte… sin duda un auténtico paraíso!
Cuesta escontrar personas así. Nos imaginábamos la típica pareja gay con aires de artistas y una casa de “diseño” y lo que nos hemos encontrado ha sido una pareja sencilla y compenetrada (se notan esos 20 años juntos), lejos de todos esos clichés y estereotipos que se asocian al mundillo. Y la casa… con personalidad, viva, auténtica como vosotros. No canvieis nunca!

Encantadores al igual que la casa y el pueblo, un placer conocerles! Totalmente recomendables, divertidos, hospitalarios, nos invitaron a cenar y desayunar, además reservamos para dos días, nos surgió un imprevisto, no pudimos llegar el primer día y nos abonaron el dinero (muchas gracias por el detalle).

Many have passed through this house, historians of the Knights Templar as Joan Fuguet Sans, Carme Plaza, Josep Maria Sans i Travé and Alain Demurger, some musicians and singers as Lluís Llac and several renowned artists such as Nan Goldin.
