We are Joaquim and Aurelius and we welcome you to our lodging houses: El Balcó de Miravet and Palau.

We offer you a comfortable apartment for two people with privileged views over the magnificent landscape of the Ebro river, at the foot of the Templar castle of Miravet.

We guarantee an unforgettable stay! ♥️

Joaquim is teacher in Fine Arts. His passion is painting, sculpture and classical music.

Me, Aureli, fine art photographer, manager of El Balcó and Palau de Miravet accommodations, local guide and my passion is to share with my guests and friends the art of good living.

By sharing our home we are helping to create a world where people can feel at home, wherever they are.

For years we have practiced home exchange and hospitality is part of our daily life, especially with creative people, respectful of our condition and sensitivity to art and landscape, with special predilection for musicians (we have piano at home).

Our philosophy of life is based on respect for people and nature, quiet life, silence and curiosity for art and culture.

We stayed three nights at Aurelio’s house and it was really too short to take in all the wonderful aspects of the house and surroundings! The beautiful garden is an enclave of beauty with stunning views over the meandering river Ebro. The interiors are smart and cosy with wonderful details. Aurelio is the kindest man, attentive and thoughtful and very communicative in the way he took the time to show us around and explain all historical details. We would love to return some day!

Staying at the Balco of Miravet was absolutely amazing! We felt very comfortable staying at Aurelio and Joaquims place - they were so kind and ready to help all the time. Aurelio even made chocolate for us and was very thoughtful always asking for our needs and bringing us some local food. The house was beautifully decorated and artsy. If you are looking for a calm and peaceful sanctuary to spend your vacations, here is the place.

The absolute PERFECT place to escape the world! Tranquil, Magical, Beautiful. Aurelio is a lovely host that is super hospitable, very kind and very creative. Fresh organic items where left for us - He even made us homemade chocolate!???? The space is incredibly unique and the perfect location for views, a small walk to the castle, and a small walk to the riverfront for food and drinks. The perfect romantic stay. We wanted to stay forever! Could not fault in any way, would HIGHLY recommend to anyone wanting a quiet getaway ????

I had been to Miravet before but I have a much better understanding of not only the history of the village now, but of things to do and local life and it is thanks to Aurelio and Joaquim’s excellent hospitality. Our time at Aurelio and Joaquim's was our favorite out of a 2 1/2 week European trip. The home was lovely and inviting with a delightful little terrace looking out over the Ebro River. The town itself was enchanting as well and breakfasts with Aurelio and Joaquim on their porch were a true delight with such enjoyable conversation. From start to finish Aurelio was a huge help in planning our trip and was always quick to reply with tips and information. He went out of his way to help. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. We would love to return and stay longer and enjoy the amazing hospitality of Aurelio and Joaquim. Their home is a true gem!

This is one of the best places I have ever stayed.. the beauty is spectacular the hosts are so kind and friendly and they make the stay completely unbelievable. The house is in the most perfect location .. so arty, peaceful and quiet and beautiful. The village is outstanding... if you love authentic beautiful places where you can appreciate the beauty of nature and of all the gorgeous buildings in the village... then this place is just for you. The river is beautiful and the castle... I saw some great birds and wildlife when I was staying here. I had such a great time here I would love to come back to stay with the hosts again ...they made my stay so brilliant.

Aurelio's place is amazing: location is outstanding, inside design is splendid, the view from the balcony is stunning and magnificent, atmosphere around is peaceful and quiet (except of wild nature sounds). “La Sixtina”

“La Sixtina” is the guest room with a balcony onto the landscape, along with the bathroom, a dining room-office, a covered terrace, and an exit to the garden.

An entire apartment floor with total privacy and an independent entrance from the rest of the house.

The bed is king size with cotton linen and wool blankets.

The masthead has two ‘ignudis’ by Michelangelo, painted by Joaquim, representing antagonisms; beauty, intelligence and eros turning their backs on envy and selfishness.

Microwave, mini fridge, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine.
Breakfast buffet included (self-managed).
Heating and air conditioning.
Internet Wi-Fi. There is NO television.
Books, guides and maps of the area.
Bed and bath linen, hairdryer and first aid kit.
Guests are responsible for their use, order and cleanliness.

The House of the Red Rock

The house was designed by Joaquim, author of the restoration and works of art of Palau. It is integrated into the landscape and recovers the appearance and volume of the three houses that formerly occupied the place, lost as a result of the Battle of the Ebro (1938).

The concept was to make a house sustainable and energy efficient, taking advantage of recycled materials, doors, windows and traditional reeds.

The balance of the indoor ecosystem of the house is vital. That is why we condition and ventilate it according to the outside temperature, avoiding opening windows (with mosquito nets) when it is hotter.

The natural rock of the mountain regulates the temperature inside the house. We also have solar panels for hot water and wood stove to heat the main hall.

The garden is a real oasis with the paradiso fig tree and the ecological pond.

We practice exchanging homes with people from all over the world and cultures. It’s amazing!

In case of cancellation up to 7 days before the date we will refund the total reservation.

For cancellations within the last 7 days we reserve the right to charge €150, equivalent to the cost of the minimum stay.

In case of cancellation once they have stayed, overnight nights are charged. Date changes are considered cancellations and new reservation.

1. It is the obligation of every guest and visitor to abide by all relevant safety rules and to handle themselves in our facilities with due care and safety.

2. Our accommodations are not responsible for guests and visitors outside our facilities, whether due to theft or personal damage.

3. As additional services, our company can provide, if requested by our guests, services such as taxis, transportation of people and luggage, tours to different places, but the guest must take into account that these are not services provided directly by the accommodations and They are part of an additional service for our clients, therefore we are not responsible for any type of eventuality.

4. All belongings or valuables must be kept and taken care of by our guests. We are not responsible for the loss or damage that belongings may suffer due to distraction, loss, theft or misuse.

5. Our accommodations do not offer restaurant service, in case this type of service is required from a third party, the consumption will be the direct responsibility of the guest.

6. The guest must immediately report to the host any damage or damage to the property, this to prevent them from suffering any damage. We are not responsible for the use of damaged items or facilities that have not been reported for review or repair.

7. It is not allowed to invite and/or temporarily or permanently accommodate strangers without reservation. If due to this situation our guests suffer any material (theft) or personal damage, they are not our responsibility and if our facilities are damaged or our property is lost, the guest must cover these damages.
